The Department of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) has announced the official notification for a total of 4481 vacancies regarding different posts i.e. Anganwadi Worker, Anganwadi Helper and Mini Anganwadi Worker on the official website i.e. sswcd.punjab.gov.in. The application form commences on June 04, 2021, and the last date to apply for the same is July 03, 2021.
The eligible candidates may apply for different posts like Anganwadi Worker (AWW), Anganwadi Helper (AWH) and Mini Anganwadi Worker (Mini AWW) at Anganwadi centre in the various districts of Punjab. A total of 3229 posts are allotted for the Anganwadi Helper post (only for women), 1170 posts for the Anganwadi Worker and 82 posts for the Mini Anganwadi Workers are to be filled.
The candidates who are within the age limit of 18-37 years can apply for the Anganwadi Helper post. However, the maximum upper age limit for disabled candidates is 47 years. The educational qualification of the candidates applying for the post of Anganwadi Helper/Worker should be Class 10th from a recognised board. Those who are applying for Anganwadi Worker or Mini Anganwadi Worker post should have done graduation and must have knowledge of Punjabi of class 10th level. On the other hand, those who are applying for the post of Anganwadi Helper should have passed class 10th with Punjabi.
The eligible candidates have to apply online at the official website at sswcd.punjab.gov.in. Upon reaching the website, the candidates need to find the link of the ‘Recruitment Notice for 4481 posts of AWW’s, Mini AWW’s and Helpers June 04, 2021’. The candidates will have to download the application form from the official notification and take a printout of the same.
The candidates are required to enter all the major details asked in the form and then i.e. Candidate’s name, address, Date of Birth, Academic Qualification along with the marks, Candidate’s photograph and signature. Post filling the application form, the candidates are required to send the duly filled application form on the official website of the concerned districts.
As per the selection process, the department will draw a merit list on the basis of the marks scored by the candidate in the class 10th exam and graduation. There are three rounds in the selection process, i.e. marks scored by candidates in Class 10th, Interview marks and Medical exam.
The candidate opting for the helper’s post candidate having more than 60% in class 10th are awarded 25 marks. While for the candidates scoring between 45-60% in class 10th the marks awarded equals 22. Also, 19 marks are allotted to the candidates who score less than 45% marks in Matriculation. Apart from this, 5 marks are allotted to the Interview round. The allotted marks for the candidates who opt for the Anganwadi Worker/Mini Anganwadi Workerpost with above 60% are given 22 marks while the candidates who have scored 45-60% will be awarded 19 marks. Also, the candidates having less than 45% are awarded 16 marks to their merit list. Candidates who have completed Graduation in any of the subjects such as Child Development, Human Development, Psychology, Nutrition, Economics will be awarded extra 3 marks. Applicants who are widows will get an extra 3 marks. The final merit list is based on the Class 10th marks and marks scored by the candidates in the Interview round.
