NTPC Limited has published Advt No. CM/Ranchi: 01/2020 for recruitment of 70 Diploma Engineers in 2020. The advertisement is available at the official website i.e. ntpccareers.net. Candidates having a Diploma in Engineering in relevant disciplines are eligible to apply online at the aforementioned website for recruitment through two stages of selection tests. The link to apply online is already active since 10.00 AM of November 23, 2020. The last date to apply online is December 12, 2020 till midnight.
As per the detailed advertisement, the vacancies are available in the disciplines of Mining (40), Mechanical (12), Electrical (10) and Mine Survey (08). These vacancies are available in Coal Mining Projects in the states of Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh under Coal Mining Region of NTPC Limited. In addition to the vacancy bifurcation details, NTPC has also highlighted the minimum eligibility conditions that must be fulfilled by applicants in order to apply for the recruitment. For Mining discipline, candidates must have a Diploma in Mining/Mining & Mine Surveying Engineering. Similarly, candidates intending to apply for Electrical discipline must have a Diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Candidates intending to apply for Mechanical discipline must have a Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Likewise, those who are intending to apply for Mine Survey discipline must have a Diploma in Mine Survey/Mining Engineering/Mining & Mine Surveying.
Candidates must note that the Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline should have been obtained in the regular mode. In addition, one must have secured at least 70% marks in Diploma in order to apply. The maximum age of the applicants is 25 years as on the date of application. However, Land Oustee applicants can apply till 35 years of age.
The selection of applicants is to be done on the basis of merit. For determination of merit, NTPC will conduct two stages of online tests. In the first test, candidates have to appear in an objective type Aptitude test based on the subjects of General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. There will be 120 questions in the test carrying 1 marks each. However, incorrect answers are liable for deduction of 0.25 marks each. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks to pass the test.
The second online test will be technical in nature based on the respective discipline. Similar to the first stage test, the question paper will be an all objective one with 120 MCQ type questions. Candidates have to complete the test in 2 hours which is also the duration for the first stage test. The marking criteria and minimum qualifying marks will also be same as the first stage test.
Selected candidates are placed in training for a period of 2 years at different NTPC Coal Mining sites. During the training, these candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 24000. However, on successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed in Basic Pay of Rs 24000 in W7 grade. Final place of posting will be determined after successful completion of training.
Applications for the recruitment can be made online at the official website i.e. ntpccareers.net only. Those who belong to General, OBC and EWS categories have to pay a fee of Rs 300. The fee must be paid to A/C No. 30987919993 at CAG Branch (Code: 09996), New Delhi on behalf of NTPC. The pay-in-slip is available on the application registration portal. It must be used to deposit the fee at the bank. Candidates have to fill up the Journal Number and Branch Code received from the bank after payment of the fee in the online application form.
