The National Testing Agency has yet again rescheduled the UGC NET 2020 examination which was earlier scheduled to be conducted starting from September 24, 2020, and ending on November 05, 2020. Immediately following the release of the earlier schedule, the West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee showed dissent as certain dates of the exam classed with upcoming Durgapuja festivities in the state. Considering the situation, the NTA has responded promptly as the exam began today. The new schedule of exam is available at the official website i.e. ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Certain exam dates in October 2020 has been shifted to new dates in November 2020 (see image below).
As per the new schedule of the UGC NET 2020 exam, exam dates of October 07, 21, 22, and 23, 2020 has been rescheduled to be held on new dates in November 2020. The exam date of October 07, 2020, has been rescheduled to be held on November 11, 2020. The exam date of October 21, 2020, has been rescheduled to be held on November 12, 2020, while the exam date of October 22, 2020, has been rescheduled to be held on November 04, 2020. The exam date of October 23, 2020, has been rescheduled to be held on November 13, 2020.
The National Testing Agency is conducting the UGC NET 2020 exam for more than 80 subjects. The detailed schedule of exam dates is available at the official website. The first day of the exam has already commenced today i.e. from September 24, 2020. The exam will continue on specified dates till the month of November, 2020. On each date, the exam for specified subjects will be held at designated centres around the country.
NTA is conducting the UGC NET 2020 exam in two consecutive shifts on each day. The first shift is scheduled to be held from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM on each exam day. Similarly, the second shift is scheduled to be held from 03.00 PM to 06.00 PM on each exam day.
UGC NET 2020 exam is conducted as a Computer Based Test. Candidates have to attempt and qualify in two papers. Paper 1 is based on General Teaching Research Aptitude and consist of 50 MCQ type questions carrying 02 marks each. Paper 2 is subject-specific and consist of 100 MCQ type questions carrying 02 marks each. There is no negative marking for wrong answers and both the papers must be completed within the maximum duration of 03 hours.
Those who qualify the UGC NET 2020 exam will be awarded certificates of eligibility for recruitment as Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellow & Assistant Professor in Indian higher education institutes. For more details and the latest updates of UGC NET 2020, visit ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
