National Board of Examinations (NBE) recently announced the National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) PG 2021 results on the official website natboard.edu.in. Candidates who have appeared for the national-level entrance exam can check their results on the official portal by entering their application number and date of birth. Interestingly, while the scores have been announced, NBE authorities are yet to release the NEET PG 2021 rank list. So, while the first few toppers are known, most candidates are clueless about their exact rank in the entrance exam.
NEET PG 2021 Rank Sheet
As mentioned before, most candidates are unsure about where they stand in terms of NEET PG 2021 ranking. While waiting for NBE to release their official rank list, doctors made a smart move. They combined the PDF document of candidates and their marks into an excel sheet. This excel sheet clearly species the rank obtained, NEET PG 2021 roll number, and marks obtained. Of course, this excel sheet does not integrate the tie-breaking criteria specified by NBE. However, it provides a tentative rank to each candidate.
Knowing the NEET PG 2021 tentative rank, candidates will be able to determine their chances of getting into their preferred stream and college. Candidates can compare their tentative rank with the previous-year cut-off ranks of various colleges. By doing so, they can get more clarity about their future course of action. At the same time, candidates must focus on the “tentative” bit and not fully rely on this rank sheet.
What is the NEET PG 2021 tie-breaking criteria?
While curating the NEET PG 2021 ranking list, NBE shall employ certain tie-breaking criteria to allot a unique rank to each candidate scoring the same marks. These tie-breaking criteria have also been specified in the information brochure. Accordingly in descending order, the criteria are as follows –
# A candidate having a greater number of correct responses in the NEET PG 2021 exam will be given a higher rank.
# Aspirants with a lower number of negative responses will be given a higher merit position in the rank list.
# Older candidates will be placed at a higher merit position if the tie still persists.
# A candidate who is scoring higher aggregate marks in all medical examinations will be placed at a higher position in the rank list.
After integrating all these criteria into the NEET PG 2021 rank list, each candidate will get a separate rank irrespective of scoring the same marks as many others. While waiting for the official rank list to come out, here is the link to the excel sheet –
