MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) has released a notice regarding the internship completion cut off date for NEET PG 2021 students. Internship is one of the most crucial eligibility factor for candidates appearing in the NEET PG exam.
As per rules, the cut off date for internship completion is usually March 31st of a particular year. However, this time Covid-19 pandemic has led to a crisis and a maximum number of candidates could not complete their internships by this date. Hence, in a bid to help these candidates, MCC has decided to increase the cut off date to September 30, 2021.
This implies that UG candidates who have completed their internships by this date are now successfully eligible to apply for the examination. The students and the medical fraternity has welcomed this decision as this is going to benefit a lot of candidates.

Earlier yesterday, the committee has released a notice according to which the counselling process for NEET PG has been put on hold by the honourable Supreme Court. As of now, the court has not reached a final decision regarding the petition filed to include the decision of 27% OBC and 10% EWS reservation.
Today, the bench led by Justice Chandrachud said that until they reach a concrete decision, the counselling process cannot be resumed. In the counter argument, Senior Advocate Arvind Dattar appealed that this delay is an injustice with the students who have put their blood and sweat into the preparations. However, the court did not reach a definite conclusion as of today. The NEET PG counselling 2021 was expected to commence from October 25, 2021.
The NEET PG Counselling is going to be held for two levels i.e. 50% seats for AIQ (All India Quota) in which AIIMS and central medical colleges participate. Whereas the counselling for the remaining 50% is for state-based medical colleges. The AIQ counselling for successful candidates is done by the Directorate General of Health Services on behalf of MCC. While the counselling for the state-based medical college counselling is done by the states.
As per the statistics released by concerned authorities around 1,74,886 candidates have registered for the NEET PG 2021 exam. The candidates successful in the NEET PG 2021 exam will stand a chance to get admission in different Post Graduate courses in different Specialities offered by 6,102 government, private, deemed/central universities.
