State CET Cell, Maharashtra has conducted both shifts of the MHT CET 2021 exam today on September 24, 2021. The exam is being conducted from September 20 to October 01, 2021, for admission to UG programs in the streams of Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy, and Agriculture.
The MHT CET 2021 exam is being held in two shifts on each exam date. The timings for the Shift 1 and Shift 2 exams are from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM in the morning and from 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM in the afternoon respectively. Shift 1
Candidates who took today’s MHT CET exam reported that the overall level of difficulty of the question paper in the first shift exam was of moderate difficulty level. Overall, the question paper was balanced, reported candidates after coming out of the exam hall. The level of difficulty of the Physics question paper was was hardest among other subjects in the PCM group. Comparatively, the Mathematics and Chemistry question papers were easier. Candidates reported that the level of difficulty was synonymous with the JEE Main Paper 1 exam.
Out of the 150 questions, 100 were based on Mathematics and 50 each from Physics and Chemistry. While a majority of the questions were based on the syllabus of Class 12th, around 10 questions were asked from the syllabus of Class 11 reported candidates.
In Chemistry, important topics included states of matter, gases & liquids, redox reaction, hydrogen, s-block elements, organic chemistry etc. In Physics, some of the most important topics included measurement, scalar & vector quantity, friction, force, the reflection of light etc. In Mathematics, questions were asked from trigonometry, circles, straight lines, functions and permutation & combination.
Shift 2
Compared to the morning shift exam, as per candidate reports, the level of difficulty of the question paper of MHT CET 2021 held today in the second shift was of the easy to moderate level. However, candidates also added that the questions asked from Physics and Mathematics were a bit tricky, confusing and time-consuming. Comparatively, the questions from the Chemistry section were easier.
Similar to the first shift, 100 questions were asked from Mathematics while 50 questions each were asked from the topics of Physics and Chemistry. Similarly, the majority of the questions were asked from the Class 12 syllabus and only about 10 questions were asked from the syllabus of Class 11.
States of matter, redox reaction, surface chemistry, s-block elements, hydrogen, organic chemistry, alkanes etc. formed the most important topics in Chemistry. In Physics, the pre-dominant topics were units & measurements, scalar & vector quantities, magnetic effect of current, magnetism etc. In Mathematics, the most important topics included trigonometry, probability, matrices & determinants, geometry, etc.
