A very hearty congratulations to all the Open School, Private and all the candidates who were earlier barred from applying for NEET 2018. The students have been waiting for this decision a long time and were worried if they can ever appear for NEET. As per the directives of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, the candidates belonging to UR category aged above 25 years, and those belonging to SC/ST/OBC category above 30 years, NIOS/State Open School, passed Biology as an additional subject, and private candidates are now eligible.

Due to the changes which have been done now, there are some changes in NEET 2018 dates. The candidates can now submit their application form until March 12, 2018 (05:30 PM). After this date, the CBSE will not accept any application form.

Other than the last date to apply, the last date for paying the NEET 2018 Application Fee has also been shifted to March 13, 2018, till 11:50 PM.

The window for NEET 2018 Application Form Correction will now be open from March 15 to 17, 2018. The rest of the dates for NEET 2018 are same. The CBSE will give only one-time facility to the candidates to make necessary corrections in the application form. However, the candidates cannot edit/ change/ modify every detail in the NEET Application Form.

Details such as Category, Gender, Nationality, State of Eligibility (for 15% All India Quota), Person with Disability, Medium of Question cannot be changed, whereas, the candidates can change rest of the data. The form correction should be done as per the schedule, as after the last date, the candidates will not get any further opportunity.

The candidates can now apply for NEET 2018 without Aadhaar or Aadhaar Enrollment Number. Instead of this, the candidates may fill the application form by mentioning alternative Identification Number such as Ration Card, Passport, Bank Account No. or other valid Government ID (such as Driving License, Voter ID etc.).

The Open School and Private candidates when submitting the NEET 2018 Application Form, under the Class 12th section should mention the Name of School/ College, same as Class 12th. In the year of passing, mention 01 year before passing the qualifying examination. In the place of the study enter the detail as applicable. State where Class 11th School/College is located and district where Class 11th School/College is located should be same as of Class 12th.

NEET 2018 is scheduled to be held on May 06, 2018. The exam will be conducted in Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. Earlier NEET was conducted in 107 cities, however, from this year onwards, NEET is going to be held in 150 cities. To be precise, 43 new test centers have been added.

Also, now NEET is not the gateway for admission in MBBS and BDS courses but also to AYUSH courses. Though the decision to grant admission in AYUSH courses was implied from last year onwards, but not every University followed this decision. However, for the academic session 2018, it is now compulsory to appear in NEET 2018 in order to take admission in AYUSH courses such as BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, etc.
