Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has announced the results for all four exams conducted by the commission i.e., 7th, 8th., 9th and 10th. Candidates can check their preliminary test (PT) results on the official website jpsc.gov.in. Authorities have announced the result in the form of a press release displaying the roll numbers of selected candidates. Moreover, these roll numbers have been segregated into various categories. So, to know whether they have been shortlisted or not, candidates will have to search their roll numbers in their respective categories.

JPSC has released the list of provisionally-selected candidates on the official website jpsc.gov.in. Although authorities have announced the PT results for exams conducted in the last 4 years, they are yet to release the cut-off marks or percentage for each category. Hence, here are the speculative category-based cut-off marks.

Candidates belonging to the General or Unreserved category must have scored a minimum of 250 marks to qualify for the preliminary entrance exam. However, reserved categories must have had a relaxation of 15-25 marks to get shortlisted. For example, SC category candidates must have needed a minimum of 238 marks to qualify while ST category candidates must have needed at least 224 marks to get selected. So a relaxation of 12-26 marks is speculated for SC and ST compared to the UR category.

Even candidates belonging to Backward Class (BC) are speculated to have a relaxation of 29 marks amounting to a cut-off score of 221. Finally, the Economical Weaker Sections (EWS) are expected to score a minimum of 194 marks to get shortlisted for the next round. Following is a table to summarize the speculated cut-offs –

CategoryExpected Cut-Off

SC238
ST224

EWS194
JPSC PT Expected Cut-Offs

Candidates must note that these cut-offs are merely an assumption and may differ from the actual cut-offs. JPSC is expected to release its cut-off scores for various categories soon, on the official portal. They are advised to visit the official portal frequently for important updates in this regard.

The JPSC PT 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th exams were held in the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 respectively. In 2021, the preliminary examination was held on September 19, 2021, for filling-up a total of 252 posts. Approximately, 2.5 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam out of which 4300 have been shortlisted. Roll numbers of all shortlisted candidates is now available on the official portal.
