The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 four times starting from March. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2022 in May/June as per some unofficial reports. The University of Delhi (DU) has decided to offer admissions to various undergraduate courses based on the scores of CUCET the exams will most probably be conducted in June-July.

JEE

The JEE Main 2022, the preliminary round of the national level entrance exam for admission to engineering courses, will most likely be conducted four times in 2022 in March, April, May, and June. As per several reports, unlike 2021, the exam will not start from February 2022 as there are assembly elections ongoing in a few states. There is no official confirmation about the beginning date of the application process or the exams. Candidates can expect the application form to commence in February end or early March.

NEET

NEET UG 2022, the national entrance exam for admission to various medical courses, primarily MBBS, is scheduled to be conducted in May or June.  Although there are demands to conduct the exam multiple times this year, the NEET UG 2022 will be conducted only once as the government has not taken any decision to conduct it multiple times. The dates of the exams conducted by the NTA are subject to change as per situations regarding the pandemic.

CUCET

The University of Delhi (DU) has decided to wipe off its system of granting undergraduate admissions based on class 12 marks from 2022. Most probably the admissions will be based on the score of the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). As per the official notification, DU is going to use the CUCET score conducted by NTA. JNU has already endorsed CUCET and has taken steps to formalize its admission process through the common university entrance exam, against the popular demand. Recently, the exam date of CUCET has been announced by NTA and it will be held in June-July.

The CUCET is a common entrance exam for admission to 42 universities in India. It was conducted every year in April/May before the pandemic. Due to the pandemic, the exam was conducted in September for the last two years. The CUCET 2022 will be in June-July after the board exams of various state school education boards as per unconfirmed reports.

The admission committee of the DU mentioned that conducting a common admission test for all the central universities is the most feasible thing for the students as it would be “an equitable opportunity for applicants to appear in a single umbrella examination at the national level and evaluation of merit across their course of study”.
