Indian Navy is inviting online applications from male & unmarried candidates for grant of Short Service Commission in Executive and Technical Branch. A total of 17 vacancies are available in these branches. A recruitment notification is published in this regard at the official website joinindianavy.nic.in. Eligible candidates can apply online at the official website as mentioned above. For Executive Branch (Sports & Law), the applications can be submitted from January 29 to February 07, 2021. For Technical Branch (Naval Constructor), the applications can be submitted from February 10 to 18, 2021.
Selected candidates are to be appointed at the rank of Sub Lieutenant for undergoing Naval Orientation Training at Naval Academy in Kerala. The training is scheduled to commence in the month of June 2021. Thereafter, candidates are to be deployed for professional training at various Naval Training Establishments. It may be noted that Short Service Commissioning is to be granted for a period of 10 years. It is extendable by another 04 years.

Candidates intending to apply for recruitment must fulfil the eligibility criteria specified for the Executive and Technical branch respectively. Candidates within the age of 22 to 27 years can apply for the Sports cadre. Such applicants must be holding a regular PG degree or BE/B.Tech qualification in any field can apply for the Sports cadre. Applicants must also have participated in Senior Level Sports Championships/Games in Athletics/Tennis/Football/Hockey/Basketball/Swimming. Those who have a Diploma in Sports Coaching from the National Institute of Sports or M.Sc in Sports Coaching are to preferred for this post. Only 1 vacancy is available in this cadre.
Candidates within the age of 22 to 27 years holding a degree in Law with at least 55% marks can apply for the Law cadre. Such applicants must have obtained their degree from an Institute recognized by the Bar Council of India. There are 02 vacancies available for this cadre. Those who are within the age of 19.5 to 25 years and has a B.E./B.Tech degree in specified disciplines with at least 60% marks are eligible to apply for the Naval Constructor post. There are 14 vacancies available for this cadre.
Selection of the candidates is to be done through SSB Interviews. The interviews are to be conducted at Bhopal/Bangalore/Visakhapatnam/Kolkata in March 2021 or later. For Law cadre, approximately 200 candidates are to be shortlisted for the SSB interviews on the basis of educational qualifications and cut offs determined by IHQ of MoD (Navy). For the cadre of Naval Constructor, approximately 800 candidates are to be shortlisted for the SSB interviews using a similar selection criteria. However, candidates who apply for the Sports cadre have to appear in an interview by Preliminary Selection Board following which, only qualifiers can appear in the SSB interviews.
