Indian Navy has released an official notification to recruit eligible candidates for Civilian Personnel in Southern Naval Command, Kochi. The applications are invited to fill up the 04 vacant posts of the Group C posts. The official notification in this regard can be downloaded from the indiannavy.nic.in or joinindiannavy.gov.in. Applications should be submitted the prescribed address within 28 days from the publication of the advertisement.
Candidates intending to apply for the Engine Driver-II post, candidates must have passed 10th class. They must possess first class Engine Driver Certificate and two years of work experience as Syrang or Tindal on a registered vessel. Those applying for the Engine Driver post must have passed 10th class and possess 2nd class Engine Driver Certificate. To apply for Greaser post, candidates must have qualified 10th class with a certificate of having completed pre-sea training course. Candidate must have completed the minimum age limit of 18 years and must not exceed 25 years while applying.
The applications can only be submitted through offline procedure via registered or the speed post. The form should be clearly written or typed as per the format available in the notification. Along with the form, attest the latest passport size photograph duly attested on the front side, The form, and documents should reach The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, {for Staff Officer (Civilian Recruitment Cell)}, Headquarters Southern Naval Command, Kochi – 682004. The envelope should be marked with the APPLICATION FR THE POST OF “______” (NAME OF THE POST)(ONE POST ONLY) and CATEGORY “_____”.
Along with the form, candidates are also asked to submit two additional copies of the passport size photograph for the admit card and exit card, self attested copies of the certificates of educational qualification, 10th certificate, work experience relevant documents, disability certificate, No Objection Certificate from Government employees, relevant documents for the ex-servicemen candidates.
Indian Navy conducts the selection process through 03 stages – scrutiny of the application, written examination and swimming test. Based on the candidate’s eligibility and scrutiny of the applications, aspirants are invited for the written examination. The scheme of examination and syllabus is published by the Indian Navy on indiannavy.nic.in. The schedule for the written examination will be out later on accordingly on the website. Hereafter, a swimming test is organized for the post of Engine Driver-II and greaser. They have to swim 50 meters followed by 02:30 minutes floating. A provisional appointment letter is issued to the qualified candidates based on the swimming test and written examination. All the provisionally selected candidates are then invited for the DV round.
