The Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) has published the official notice concerning the changes made in JAIIB/ DB&F/ SOB/ CAIIB Syllabus. Against this setting, a need was felt to extend the concentration from fundamental information to creating and improving idea-based abilities. Subjects under the JAIIB/ DB&F/ SOB/ CAIIB revised syllabus are:
- JAIIB/ DB&F includes 4 compulsory papers. These are Indian Economy & Indian Financial System, Principles & Practices of Banking, Accounting & Financial Management For Bankers, Retail Banking & Wealth Management
- CAIIB includes 4 compulsory papers and 1 elective paper. Compulsory subjects include Advanced Bank Management, Bank Financial Management, Advanced Business & Financial Management, Banking Regulations & Business Laws; whereas the elective subjects include Risk Management, Information Technology & Digital Banking, Central Banking, Human Resources Management, Rural Banking. Out of these, only one needs to be opted by the candidate.
- SOB includes 2 compulsory papers namely Principles & Practices of Banking, Banking Regulations & Business Laws
The notification further states that exams under JAIIB/DB&F/SOB/CAIIB for the November-December 2022 session will be held according to the old syllabi. Consequent to this, the old syllabi will be discontinued and the revised be officially affirmed. JAIIB/DB&F/SOB/CAIIB exams from May/June 2023 onwards will be held as per the revised syllabi only, the notification further read.
