National Institute of Epidemiology is inviting applications through email for the recruitment of one Project Scientist

National Institute of Epidemiology is inviting applications to fill up one vacancy for the post of Project Scientist-C (Medical/Non-Medical). The ICMR-NIE has released an official recruitment notification in this regard at the official website i.e. nie.gov.in advertising the vacant and other terms and conditions of recruitment. The last date of submitting applications is August 10, 2020, up to 05.00 PM forwarded through a specified email id.

As per the detailed official recruitment notification, there is a single vacancy available for the post of Project Scientist-C (Medical/Non-Medical) (HTA-Resource Center Coordinator) under the HTARC project. Eligible and selected candidates are posted at NIE, Chennai following their successful appointment. However, candidates must ensure that they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. Selected candidates are appointed for an initial period of one year only. However, the employment tenure is extendable depending on the actual project duration and the performance of the candidate.

For the medical post, candidates must have a post-graduate degree in Preventive and Social Medicine or Public Health/Epidemiology/Economics or Public Administration/Administration/Actuarial Science after MBBS. Alongside this, a year’s experience is also required. Candidates having a post-graduate diploma in the aforementioned subjects along with an MBBS degree and 2 years of relevant experience are also eligible to apply. Other candidates with MBBS degree with 04 years of relevant experience in the fields of Public Health/Epidemiology/Economics/Public Administration/Health Management medical subjects are also eligible to apply.

Those aspiring for the Non-Medical cadre of the post must have a first-class degree in any of the subjects of Economics, Health Economics, Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Health Care Management. Alongside this, candidates must also have 04 years of relevant experience. Candidates having a second class Master’s degree in any of the subjects of Life Science, Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Health Management, Actuarial Science along with Ph.D. and 04 years of experience are also eligible to apply. Candidates are advised to go through the detailed recruitment advertisement for complete information on the desirable qualification and experience.

The maximum permissible age to apply for the recruitment is 40 years. Selected candidate is appointed at the advertised positions for specified monthly emoluments. For the Medical post, the monthly emolument is Rs 64000 along with HRA. For the Non-Medical post, the monthly emolument is Rs 51,000 per month along with HRA.

Applications for the aforementioned recruitment must be forwarded in the prescribed proforma along with copies of supporting documents and testimonials on or before the last date. The applications must only be submitted to the email id [email protected] The institute will intimate the date and time of the interview to the eligible applicants through the provided email id.
