Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is expected to release the admit card and new exam date for the post of Technician soon. Earlier, the written examination was scheduled from January 25 to February 05, 2022, however, it was delayed. IARI has announced 641 vacancies for the post of Technician in different colleges established across India. The admit card was expected to be released by January 20, 2022, but it was delayed citing some unavoidable reasons. The council has not disclosed the reason for this delay and postponement of the written examination. Several reports suggest that this may be due to the prevalent third wave of the covid-19 pandemic. Now it has been anticipated that ICAR shall notify the new exam dates for the post of Technician soon.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The selection process of the ICAR IARI Technician has two rounds, written examination, and document verification. Candidates willing to take up a job with the ICAR have to clear both rounds with the prescribed minimum qualifying marks. The written examination is going to have 100 questions from four subjects, General knowledge, Science, Mathematics, and Social Science. The candidates are provided with a duration of 90 minutes to complete the test. Talking about the marking scheme, there is a prescribed negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
The minimum qualifying marks for the unreserved category is 40% of the total marks. Whereas the OBC/SC/EWS candidates have to score 30% of the total marks and the SC category has to score 25% of the total marks. The successful candidates are then called for the document verification round. The council has also notified the subject-wise syllabus for all the subjects applicable to the written examination on the official notification. Candidates can check them to know the level of preparedness and important topics before the written test.
