The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the Final Intermediate Chartered Accountants Examinations. The exams were earlier scheduled to take place on May 21, 2021 (Final) and May 22, 2021 (Intermediate). Fresh dates will be announced in due course of time after evaluating the situation of COVID-19 across the nation. With the second wave of COVID-19 in the country, it has become difficult to conduct the examination. In the interest of students and for their well-being, ICAI has decided to postpone the examination. ICAI will be releasing new dates for the CA final and Intermediate examination 2021 after reviewing the COVID-19 cases, MHA guidelines and centre and state government directions.
Moreover, there has been speculations and rumours on the postponement of the ICAI May 2021 Exam. After almost all exam being either cancelled or postponed, CA aspirants were worried about the Final and Intermediate exam taking place amidst the second wave. Candidates were sharing their concern on the ongoing situation of coronavirus across the country. They further raised the idea to postpone the exam on social media to reach out to ICAI. A photograph of a COVID-19 patient studying in an isolation ward is also getting viral these days.
ICAI also choose to publish the information about the postponement of the exam on Twitter. The tweet stated, “ICAI Chartered Accountants Examinations – Final & Intermediate Course which are scheduled to be held in May 2021 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic” are postponed. With the exam being postponed, students were apprehensive about the new dates for the exam. CA aspirants wanted to know about the new dates that will be released so that they can start preparing for the exam. ICAI has also cleared the air on the new CA exam dates. The Institute has said that the revised dates for CA Final and Intermediate Exam 2021 will be announced in due course of time. Based on the COVID-19 cases of upcoming days, MHA guidelines, ICAI will be announcing new exam dates. It will also consider the central ad state government guidelines before announcing the CA exam date 2021.
