The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the examination dates for the Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment exam. As per the schedule, the preliminary examination will take place on October 15, 16 and 22, 2022. This will be followed by the Main examination that will be held on November 26, 2022. It must be noted that the entire registration process will be via the online mode. There will be a single registration window for both preliminary and main examination.

Since the detailed notification about IBPS PO 2022 has not been released yet, candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website ibps.in for all updates. As per the specifications provided in the official advertisement, candidates will be required to upload certain documents. These documents are listed below.
- Candidate’s photograph
- Signature
- Thumb impression
- Scanned copy of handwritten declaration as per the format
All these documents have to be in the ‘jpeg‘ format with varying file sizes. The photograph and thumb impression must be between 20 KB to 50 KB. Similarly, the signature needs to be between 10 KB to 20 KB. On the other hand, the declaration has to be between 50 KB to 100 KB.
IBPS PO 2022: Syllabus
According to the syllabus that has been followed till 2021, the IBPS PO preliminary examination has three subjects namely English language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. Altogether, there are three stages in the recruitment process. Candidates qualifying for the preliminary examination are then called for the main round. This is ultimately followed by the interview session which is the third or final round.
Some of the topics that are covered in the subjects under the preliminary examination under IBPS PO are:
- English Language – Reading comprehension, spotting errors, sentence improvement, sentence correction, para jumbles, paragraph and sentence completion, etc.
- Reasoning Ability – Seating arrangements, puzzles, syllogism, data sufficiency, blood relations, order and ranking, distance and direction, verbal reasoning, etc.
- Quantitative Aptitude – Number series, data interpretation, simplification, average, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and distance, mensuration, probability, permutation and combination, etc.
Exam Pattern
The IBPS PO 2022 is going to be conducted in the online mode. Candidates will be required to answer objective-type questions or MCQs. Like previous years, a duration of 01 hour will be given to complete the test. There will be three sections in the question paper and the total number of questions will be 100. For every correct answer, 01 mark will be awarded and for every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
