IAF Airmen STAR 01/2021 Exam To Be Held in July, Announces Indian Air Force

The selection process comprises an Online Test, Physical Fitness Test, Adaptability Test and Medical test for IAF Airmen Group X and Y.

IAF Airmen STAR 012021 Exam

Indian Air Force has announced that the online examination for the IAF Airmen STAR 01/2021 will be held in July 2021. The online registration for the IAF Group X and Y was conducted from January 22, 2021, to February 07, 2021. The examination was initially scheduled from April 18, 2021, to April 24, 2021. Although the admit card for the exam in April has already been issued by the IAF. The fresh admit cards will be released soon for the online test scheduled for July 2021. 

The selection process of IAF Airmen comprises three phases i.e. Phase I Online Test, Phase II that includes eligibility verification, Physical Fitness Test, Adaptability Test, and Phase III i.e. Medical Test. The online test is phase 1 of the selection process and basically judges the knowledge of the candidates. The online test will be held separately for both the Group X and Group Y trades. Also, some candidates can appear for both posts in one sitting. 

The test for the Group X cadre will be a 60 minutes paper that will comprise 85 questions from namely three subjects i.e. English, Physics and Mathematics. The paper can be attempted in both English and Hindi language and the level of the paper will be as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus. While the paper of Group Y cadre shall be held for 60 minutes and will have questions from English, General Awareness and Reasoning.

The candidates willing to appear for the combined test of Group X and Y will be required to appear for a test having questions from subjects like English, Physics and Mathematics and General Awareness and Reasoning. The duration of the exam will be 85 minutes in this case. As per the marking scheme, the candidates will get 1 mark for the correct answer, there shall be a deduction of 0.25 marks for the wrong answer and no deductions for answers left blank.

The candidates who will clear the online test will be called for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the selection process. The final provisional result is expected to be released in October 2021 while the final enrolment will be out in December 2021. The candidates’ post selection will be entitled to get Rs 14,600 during the training process. While the minimum pay scale of the candidates selected for the Group X post will get the basic pay of Rs 33,100 plus admissible DA. In the same way, the candidates selected for the post of Group Y will be entitled to get Rs 26,900 plus DA admissible.
