Indian Air Force (IAF) has conducted the Airmen Group X and Y 2021 exam. Today, July 18, 2021, was the last date for STAR 01/2021 that stands for Scheduled Test for Airmen Recruitment. The STAR 01/2021, originally planned for April 18-24, 2021, were held on rescheduled dates July 12-18, 2021. The next order of business, will be declaration of results, which will be followed by fitness tests.
Airmen results for STAR 01/2021 are most likely to be declared on August 10, 2021. This date is being predicted on the basis of past STAR exam result dates. It has been observed, that IAF / CASB declares Airmen exam results exactly 23 days after the exam.
In 2020, the recruitment examination was conducted in November 04. Results for the same were announced on November 27, on the official website airmenselection.cdac.in. Similarly, in 2019, CDAC conducted the IAF Airmen selection test from March 14 to 17. Thereafter, results were announced on April 09. A similar trend was followed in 2018 when the recruitment exam was held from September 13 to 16. Results for the selection test were announced on October 09.
Based on the last three years, it is clear that CSAB declares the recruitment exam results with 23 days. Thus, candidates can expect their results to come out by the second week of August, 2021. Candidates who score equal to or more than the cut-off marks shall be shortlisted for the Phase II of the selection process. While the cut-off marks for this year will be announced post result declaration, aspirants can take a look at the past exam cut-offs to get an idea about the marks required.
In case of the IAF Airmen 01/2020 STAR online exam, the cut-off marks for Group X was 36.25 out of 70. In case of Group Y, the cut-off marks was 37.25 our of 50.
In case of the Airmen 01/2018 recruitment exam, the cut-off marks were 38 out of 70 for candidates belonging to Group X. In case of Group Y, candidates had to score a minimum of 36 out of 50 to appear for the next round.
CSAB had conducted the Star 02/2018 Airmen in-line examination from September 13 to 16, 2021. Based on the results, the cut-off marks for Group X batch was 27.75 out of 70 marks. Similarly, in case of Group Y batch, the cut-off marks were 32.75 marks out of 50.
From the previous year cut-offs, it is evident that Group X candidates must at least score between the range of 27-38 to qualify for the next stage. On the other hand, Group Y candidates must score a minimum of 32-38 marks to get shortlisted for the next round. While these are just tentative ranges, the official cut-offs shall be released when the result comes out.
IAF Airmen Recruitment process comprises three phases. Phase I consists of online exam while Phase II comprises of the Physical Fitness Test, Adaptability Test I and Adaptability Test II. Phase III covers the medical examination part to finally deem the candidate as fit or unfit for the recruitment process. Selected candidates then, get to serve in the Indian Air Force.
