With every passing day, the demand for postponing NEET PG 2022 examination is only intensifying. Young doctors across the country are protesting against the clash of dates between two major events – 1. NEET PG 2021 Counselling and 2. NEET PG 2022 examination. The former is currently being conducted by the National Board of Examination for Medical Sciences (NBEMS). This process is scheduled to continue till February or March 2022. So, there is a high possibility of this process getting clashed with the NEET PG 2022 exam date.

Demand for Postponing NEET PG 2022

As of now, the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2022 is scheduled to be conducted through the computer-based test on March 12, 2022. A significant chunk of students appearing for this exam had also appeared for the previous session. So, they are preoccupied with the counselling process. Invariably, juggling between two major events may hamper a candidate’s performance in the upcoming exam.

With this mindset in mind, candidates are demanding the postponement of NEET PG 2022. Another reason can be that when the previous session is still underway, how can NBEMS begin a new session? This sequence of events is likely to create chaos in the system. So, to avoid this chaos, doctors are pressing on postponing the session.

Introducing Dr Amit Gupta

Dr Amit Gupta is a well-known personality among NEET UG and PG aspirants. With 25K + followers, he has definitely created a presence on Twitter, informing aspirants about any recent developments in the NEET universe.

Recently, netizens have witnessed a consistently trending hashtag #postponeneetpg2022. Using this tweet, Dr Gupta came out in support of all doctors demanding the postponing of the national-level PG entrance exam. While expressing his opinion, he firmly stated that the National Medical Commission must consider these demands and announce fresh dates for the new session. He even linked an article by India Today explaining the opinion of experts regarding the postponement.

What Are Experts Saying?

Some doctors and important members of the medical fraternity are in support of the postponement of NEET PG 2022. According to them, an average rank holder would not be able to juggle between counselling and preparation. Although some may manage this pressure, this clashing of dates will hamper other aspirants’ performance.

Although clashing of dates is not the ideal situation, a delay in NEET PG 2022 will invariably, affect the 2022-23 exam calendar. The government is currently, trying to overcome the delay already imposed by the pandemic. However, it is pertinent for the government to take a call soon, providing clarity to the protesting doctors.
