Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited is inviting online applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up 10 latest job openings. HCSL has advertised 10 vacancies for various posts. One vacancy each is available for the posts of Jr. Technical Assistant (Mechanical, Electrical), Storekeeper, Operator (Plasma Plate Cutting Machine, Press, Pipe Bending, Crane, Plate Preservation) and Welder Cum Fitter (Welder/Welder [Gas & Electric], Fitter). Selected candidates are to be appointed in the pay scales W7 or W6 depending on the post. For W7, the scale of pay is Rs 23500-77000 and for W6, it is Rs 22500-73750.

Aspiring candidates are required to comply with the age restrictions and other eligibility conditions related to academic qualifications and experience before applying. The maximum age of the applicants cannot be more than 35 years as on February 02, 2021. Relaxations on the upper age limit is applicable for candidates belonging to special categories as indicated on the information brochure. However, in no case can the maximum age of the applicants exceed 45 years.
Applicants must also be holding necessary educational qualifications. For example, for the post of Jr. Technical Assistant, a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical engineering is required. Such candidates can also apply for the post of storekeeper. Class 10th pass candidates having an ITI certificate in relevant trade can apply for Operator post. Similar qualification with ITI in relevant field is required to apply for Welder posts. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification and check out the experience required to apply for individual posts before submitting their applications.
HCSL is going to conduct a two phase examination for the selection of eligible candidates. Phase 1 will consist of an objective type online test of 70 marks while Phase 2 will consist of a descriptive type written test. For Operator & Welder posts, Phase 1 will consist of an objective type online test of 30 marks while Phase 2 will consist of a Practical Test of 70 marks.
