The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has successfully conducted the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for the 2022 session. As of now, the organizing institute will be announcing the results on March 17, 2022. Soon after the declaration of the results, candidates will be able to download the scorecards from March 21, 2022 onwards. The aptitude test is conducted every year for admission to the various master’s programmes.
According to the information brochure, the GATE 2022 score will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results. After this period, no information regarding the GATE 2022 score will be available. Qualified candidates will be able to download the scorecards till May 31, 2022.
Candidates are advised to store a soft copy of the scorecards for future use. However, in case the candidates require the soft copy after May 31, 2022; then they have to pay Rs 500 for obtaining the same. It must be noted that no scorecard will be issued by the organizing institute from January 01, 2023 onwards. Nonetheless, there is no provision for the issuance of hard copies of the GATE 2022 scorecard.
GATE 2022 Score
Once the evaluation of the answers is complete, the actual or raw marks (for single session papers) will be considered for computing the GATE 2022 score. However, for papers or subjects that were conducted over multiple sessions, the raw marks of the candidates will be converted to normalized marks using a different scheme. As a result, based on the qualifying marks, the raw or normalized marks will be used to compute the scores.
Normalization Process
The normalization process is adopted to take into account any variation in the difficulty level of the question papers across different sessions. For the papers that are held over multiple sessions, the distribution of the abilities of the candidates is just the same across all sessions. Moreover, the number of candidates appearing in multi-session papers is large and the allocation of sessions to them is random. GATE 2022 Result
After the results are announced, candidates can check the same from the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in. They can access the same from the online application portal. IIT Kharagpur has previously released the official answer keys and candidates were given the provision to submit challenges. The results will be based on the final and revised answer key.
