The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has released the answer key and master question paper for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. Candidates can now download the answer keys from the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in. To download the answer keys, one has to head straight to the application portal and enter the login credentials to check the answer keys. In case a candidate wants to submit any challenge against the answer key, then they can do so by paying Rs 500 for each question.
How to download?
IIT Kharagpur has previously released the response sheets of the candidates at the application portal itself. Using the response sheets and the answer keys, one can calculate a tentative score in the examination. To download the answer keys, here are the steps that one can follow.
Step 1- Go to the official website of GATE 2022 at gate.iitkgp.ac.in
Step 2- On the right-hand side of the screen, click on the ‘Login’ button under the ‘GATE 2022 Online Application’ portal.
Step 3- Enter the enrollment number or email address and then the password.
Step 4- Provide the solution to the arithmetic expression and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 5- Now, click on ‘Exam Dates’ and select the appropriate date.
Step 6- Under ‘Exam Details’, click on ‘Download Master Question Paper’ first.
Step 7- Then, click on ‘Download Answer Key’.
Step 8- After downloading them, crosscheck the answers.

It must be noted that the answer table has been based on the master question paper. Candidates are instructed to download the master question paper and then compare the answers with their real-time responses. Since the questions and responses are shuffled in real-time responses, candidates should avoid confusion by reading the question first and then crosschecking the answer.
Candidates will be able to challenge the answer key via the official website from February 22 to 25, 2022. This is a very limited time period and one should do the needful within the stipulated deadline. After that, the examination papers of the candidates will be evaluated and then the GATE 2022 results will be released in the form of scorecards. Candidates qualifying for the examination will be able to download the scorecards from the application portal of gate.iitkgp.ac.in.
The total marks of the question paper are 100. It must be noted that there will be negative markings in the GATE 2022 exam. For every 01 mark MCQ, 1/3 marks will be deducted. Similarly, for every 02 mark MCQ, 2/3 marks from the question will be deducted.
GATE 2022 Result Date
The organizing institute will then announce the results of the GATE 2022 examination on March 17, 2022. After that, candidates will be able to download the scorecards from March 21, 2021. The scores will be normalized using a normalization scheme that has been mentioned in the information brochure.
