GATE 2018 Result: IIT Guwahati Might Declare Result on March 16; Know Expected Cutoff

Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) are considered as the premier institute of education in the country. Keeping up with the reputation, the institutes ensure that the admission processes run smoothly on the determined deadline. This year, IIT Guwahati conducted GATE 2018. So far, the institute has successfully concluded all the events of the examination. The candidates now wait for the GATE 2018 result, which is due to be released on March 17, 2018. The predictions are that the result will be released earlier, on March 16, 2018.

Marks are awarded to candidates on basis of official GATE 2018 answer keys. The basis for the forecast – that result will be announced on March 16, 2018 – are previous year trends.

Last year, the result of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2018 was supposed to be released on March 27 but was declared on March 26. Exactly the same happened in the year before when the conducting IIT released the result a day before. Even the trends this year are that all the events of GATE have happened earlier

All the events of the exam this year have started a day before the due date. Starting with the application form, it was to be available from September 01 but the institute started the registration on August 31, 2018. Similarly, IIT-G had to issue the admit card of GATE 2018 on January 5 but it provided it on January 4.

Hence, it is begin predicted that the result of GATE 2018 will be available on March 16 and not 17.

So, the candidates should keep their Enrollment ID, Password, and Captch nearby. The result will be announced through the GOAPS 2018.

First, the result will be announced and then from March 20 to May 31 the scorecard will be available for download. The scorecard will only be issued to those candidates who will qualify the exam as per the result. GATE 2018 scorecard will be valid for 3 years, from the date of issuance.

The result will only state the score of candidates out of 100, all India rank, and qualifying status, and qualifying marks in the subject. Whereas, the scorecard will disclose the normalized score in GATE 2018. The normalization of GATE 2018 Score is done on the basis of the predefined formula.

The cutoff for GATE 2018 is expected to be similar to last year. The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks which sets the bar to be qualified. The candidates can check the last year’s GATE cutoff from below.

GATE 2018 Cutoff

GATE is indeed a tough examination. The pass percentage do not go high. It remains somewhere near 14 to 17 percent every year.

The candidates who qualify the examination either choose to get admission in M.Tech / M.E course or opt for PSU Recruitment 2018.

The recruitment in PSUs is done on the basis of raw, as well as, normalized score. Candidates will have to individually apply for each PSU. However, for M.Tech admission, there are two mediums. To get admission in IITs, the candidates need to apply individually to each IIT and then check the offer status at GATE COAP 2018.

On the other hand, for NITs and CFTI admission the candidates will have to register for CCMT 2018 counselling. The CCMT registration will begin April 03 and the candidates will be able to apply until May 08, 2018. We hope this article was helpful to you.
