The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is inviting applications to fill vacancies under ‘Group A’ and various other posts. Interested candidates can check detailed information and eligibility criteria for these posts from the official website – fssai.gov.in. The link for online applications and fee payment will open on October 08, 2021. However, the last date for submitting applications is November 07, 2021. A total of 254 vacancies are going to be filled through this recruitment drive.
Under ‘Group A’ posts, a total of 21 vacancies are available. There are 6 vacancies available for Assistant Director, 9 for Assistant Director (Technical) and 6 for Deputy Manager. The age limit as on the closing date of application is 35 years. Pay level for all of these posts is 10. In addition to these posts, a total of 233 vacancies will be filled for Food Analyst, Technical Officer, Central Food Safety Officer (CFSO), Assistant Manager (IT), Assistant Manager, Assistant, Hindi Translator, Personal Assistant, IT Assistant, IT Assistant, Junior Assistant Grade – I. These posts have varying age limits, ranging between 25 to 35 years. Candidates should be of the specified age limit, as on the closing date of application. Similarly, the pay level varies between 4 to 10.
The application fee for General and OBC category candidates is Rs 1000 along with intimation charges of Rs 500. However, SC, ST, EWS, Women, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD category candidates won’t have to pay any application fee but they must deposit the intimation charges of Rs 500. The stages of selection for Assistant Director, Assistant Director (Technical) and Deputy Manager involve CBT (Stage-1), CBT (Stage-2) and Interview. While CBT (Stage-1) holds 50% weightage, CBT (Stage-2) and Interview hold 35% and 15% weightage respectively.
For the remaining posts, the stages of selection are different. For instance, for the post Food Analyst, there will be a written test and interview. But, for Technical Officer, CFSO, Assistant Manager, etc. there will be CBT (Stage-1) and CBT (Stage-2), both having 50-50% weightage. However, the rest only involves CBT. But, for Personal Assistant, proficiency in shorthand typing will also be taken into account.
