Defence Research and Development Organisation is inviting applications on the prescribed proforma for engagement of 30 apprentices at Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL) for the financial year 2020-2021. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to apply for the engagement for a period of one year after ensuring that all eligibility conditions are met. The application form is available for download from the official website i.e. drdo.gov.in. Candidates must note that the last date of receipt of applications by email is 15 days from the date of advertisement in Employment News i.e. December 07, 2020.
As per the advertisement by DRDO,. the 30 vacancies for recruitment of Apprentices are available under Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL), Ambernath. It must be noted that selected candidates are posted only for a period of 1 year in various disciplines. Such candidates are entitled to receive a monthly stipend as indicated in the advertisement. Graduate Apprentices are entitled to receive Rs 9000 per month. Diploma Apprentices are entitled to receive Rs 8000 per month. On the other hand, ITI and 10+2 apprentices are entitled to receive Rs 7000 per month.
Candidates must fulfil the specified eligibility conditions in order to apply for the engagement. Candidates who have passed their respective courses in 2017, 2018 and 2019 are only eligible to apply for this engagement. In addition, candidates with Post Graduate degree are also not eligible to apply. Only those who have completed their qualification as a regular candidate are eligible to apply.
Candidates having B.Sc. Chemistry degree or B.A./B.Com degree with adequate computer knowledge are eligible to apply for the post of Graduate Apprentice. Similarly, candidates having a regular Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, and Paint Technology are eligible to apply for the post of Diploma Apprentice. Candidates having an ITI qualification in the trades of Pump Operator, Fitter, Electrician, Lab Assistant, Welder and Office Assistant-Computer Operator are eligible to apply for the post of ITI Apprentice. Similarly, candidates who have passed Class 12th in any stream with knowledge of computers are eligible to apply for the post of 10+2 apprentice.
As per DRDO, there will not be any selection interview held for the selection or applicants because of the ongoing pandemic. Instead, candidates must will be selected on the basis of merit. All valid applications will be sorted by a Board constituted by the Director of NMRL. Only the selected candidates will be informed through offer letter. Thus, candidates are advised to furnish correct communication details including email ID and phone number in their applications.
