The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has begun conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET). The Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences paper was conducted on January 29, 2022. Earlier, the admit card was only released for the Earth Sciences Paper only. Now, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the shift-wise schedule of the rest of the exams. This is to give the students an idea of the exam date and exam shift. The candidates appearing for Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences can find the shift-wise schedule here.

NTA has also informed that the admit card for these exams will be released soon. Once the admit card is released, the candidates can download the same from the website csirnet.nta.nic.in. using their application number and date of birth. Shift 1 is held from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, and Shift 2 is from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

CSIR NET Exam Pattern
The total duration of the CSIR NET exam is 3 hours and it comprises 3 parts. Part A is common to all the subject papers and covers General Aptitude questions. Part B consists of subject-related Multiple Choice Questions. Part C contains higher-order questions that test the candidates’ analytical abilities, scientific concepts, and their applications. Candidates can attempt the exam either in Hindi or English, based on their choice. The total number of questions and marking scheme depends on the subject paper chosen by the candidate. Exam day guidelines
Candidates should carry a printed copy of their admit card, a passport size photograph, and a valid photo ID proof, to secure entry into the exam hall. Candidates should reach the exam hall at least 1 hour prior to the exam time. This will give ample time for verification and frisking. The exam will be conducted in online mode. The candidates will be provided a rough sheet for working out. Electronic gadgets, watches, and calculators are prohibited items. Due to the COVID condition, candidates should adhere to the COVID protocols, follow social distancing, and strictly not communicate with other candidates. Candidates should cover their face with a mask, which will be provided by the exam center. Also, candidates are allowed to carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer and a transparent water bottle.
