Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission in its recent notification has advertised the recruitment process for Police Sub-Inspector and Sergeant. BPSSC has announced a total of 2213 ou of which 1998 vacancies for Police Sub Inspector and 215 vacancies are available for Sergeant. Online applications to fill the vacant posts are invited from August 16, 2020, onwards. Aspirants are advised to submit their form by September 24, 2020. Download the detailed notification with Advt. Out of the total vacancies of Police Sub-Inspector, 683 vacancies are reserved for the women candidates. Similarly, 76 vacancies out of the total vacancies for Sergeant are reserved for women candidates. Those who are shortlisted under the announced vacancy receives a monthly salary of Rs. 35,400/- to Rs. 1,12,400/-.
The eligibility criteria for the Police-Sub Inspector and Sergeant is similar. To apply for the announced posts, candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized board. They must have attained the minimum age limit of 20 years as on January 01, 2020. Candidate’s age should not exceed that of 37 years. However, the maximum age limit for SC/ST/ BC/ EBC/ Women candidates is relaxable. Candidates can go through the notification to get information about the Physical Standard, she relaxation and more.
Applications can only be submitted through bpssc.bih.nic.in. The link for registration, form and fee submission will be activated as per the schedule. Before registration and fee submission, keep a valid and working mobile number and email Id. Till the recruitment process is over, these contact details should remain active as BPSSC uses these for communication. The application fee of Rs. 700/- and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST is mandatory for successful registration. The fee can be paid through Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card. The registration ID that candidates receive should also be kept safe until the recruitment process concludes.
Selection criteria for this recruitment include the written examination and the physical standard round. The written examination consists of the preliminary exam and the mains examination. BPSSC conducts the preliminary examination with 100 questions. Each question in the prelims exam carries 02 marks and has a negative marking of 0.2 marks. To qualify the prelims round, candidates must secure at least 30% marks. Shortlisted candidates are invited for the mains examination. The BPSSC mains exam consists of 02 papers – General Hindi and General Knowledge. The marks in the General Hindi subject are not calculated for the preparation of the final merit list. Hereafter, candidates are invited for the Physical Standard Round, qualifying which candidates are appointed as the Police Sub-Inspector and Sergeant.
