The Education Department, Govt. of Bihar is going to start D.El.Ed admission 2021-23 from August 18, across all Teacher Training Institutes of Bihar, says a report. According to the schedule drafted by the Education Department, eligible and interested candidates can apply from August 18 to September 01, 2021, at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Primary Teacher Education College (PTEC), and Block level Institute of Teacher Education (BITE).
The applications can be submitted at “Online Portal for application in D.El.Ed Session 2021-23” starting from August 18. Previously, the admissions were conducted through a common entrance test organized by a nodal agency. From the year 2019-20, the process was scrapped and institutes were directed to provide admissions through merit lists.
Based on the information brochure released last year, to be eligible for Bihar D.El.Ed registration, a candidate should have passed class 12th or Intermediate with at least 50% marks in aggregate from Bihar School Examination Board or any other recognized state/central board. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories are eligible for relaxation in marks up to 5%. The age of the applicant should not be less than 17 years as of January 01, 2021. To complete the registration process, General/OBC/EWS candidates have to pay a registration fee of Rs 960. Whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST categories have to pay Rs 760, reads last year’s data.

Once the application process is over, a meeting will be chaired by the registration committee regarding the merit list on September 09. Thereafter, the merit lists will be released on September 13, 2021, by all the institutes on the behalf of received applications. Bihar D.El.Ed admission merit lists will be published by all the participating institutes on their respective websites.
Further, the applicants will be provided with an opportunity to raise challenges against the merit list till September 20. Thereafter, the committee will resolve all the challenges against the merit list and will issue final merit lists and waiting lists till September 27.
Final merit lists and waiting lists will be published on the websites of the respective institutes. An intimation regarding the publication of merit/waiting lists will also be sent to applicants through SMS, E-mail, and Phone. All institutes will facilitate D.El.Ed admissions on a number of seats approved by the NCTE.
Once the counselling process is over on both merit and a waiting list, the D.El.Ed admission process will be over. That will pave the way forward to the commencement of the academic session.
