The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has released an official press release on the dedicated portal i.e. ctet.nic.in regarding the upcoming CTET 2021 session on July 30, 2021. According to the press release, the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) dates have now been revised and the same will now be conducted in December 2021/January 2022. Along with this, the candidates can also witness major changes in the mode of the examination, exam pattern, and syllabus. The official notification for the CTET 2021 was expected in July 2021. However, with this latest press release, the notification is now expected to be out in the upcoming months.
The press release has answered a lot of queries regarding the CTET 2021 examination. According to the authorities, the examination will be conducted in the online CBT mode to make the teacher’s computer literate. Additionally, this move will also save a lot of paper from being wasted. In order to make the candidates comfortable with the online mode, the authorities will set up facilitation centres across different districts pan India. The candidates can easily register themselves with these centres and practice the mock tests for the examination.

The CTET press release also highlighted the fact that the board will be making some structural changes in the exam pattern and the syllabus. Until now, the questions asked in the examination judged the factual knowledge of the candidates. However, with the revision of the exam pattern and syllabus, more emphasis will be given to the overall problem-solving skills and teaching methodology. Additionally, the new exam pattern will also check the candidate’s overall knowledge of the subject.
The board will also try to assess the candidate’s basic idea of planning the syllabus and major process followed by them to develop questions on the different subjects asked in the examination. The board will release the blueprint of the exam pattern and sample papers in the coming months for the candidates.
In June 2021, the Union Ministry of Education revised the validity period of the CTET certificate. The validity of the certificate was 7 years from the date of passing the exam; however, it has now been revised to lifetime. In addition to this, the board will not provide any mark sheet or certificate to the respective candidates.
