Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) will be releasing the list of shortlisted candidates for interview tomorrow, i.e. April 28, 2022. Candidates who have appeared for the OCES/DGFS exam will be able to check the list at the official website – barconlineexam. The selection interview sessions are going to be conducted in Mumbai and Hyderabad. This recruitment examination has been held for recruiting scientific officers in the Department of Atomic Energy.
The exact dates for the selection interviews are going to be announced in due time. Shortlisted candidates will also be given the facility to select interview slots via the online application portal. However, the tentative period for the interviews is during June and July, 2022.
Shortlisted candidates have to appear for the interview in Mumbai for all disciplines except Geology. For Geology, the interviews are going to be held in Hyderabad. Outstation candidates must note that they will be paid a two-way normal AC 3-tier train fare to attend the interviews from the registered residential address.
Candidates must also keep an eye on their mobile numbers and email addresses since alerts will be sent to the shortlisted candidates. The final selection of the candidates for the recruitment will be solely based on the performance in the selection interviews which is however subject to medical fitness. A list of provisionally selected candidates for medical fitness will be published on the official website in September, 2022. They will also be sent information by email and SMS.
Stipend and Allowances
OCES TSOs and DGFS fellows will be paid a stipend of Rs 55,000 during their training period along with a one-time book allowance of Rs 18,000. Moreover, the DGFS fellows will be reimbursed the tuition fee for M.Tech and M.Chemical Engineering. To meet all their project-related expenses, they will be paid an additional one-time contingency grant of Rs 25,000. During the training period, boarding and lodging will be mandatory for the OCES TSOs.
Appointment of candidates in all units for the scientific officer will be as per level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay Matrix, which is Rs 56,100. OCES TSOs are going to get two or three increments depending on their performance in the M.Tech and M. Chemical Engineering and the four-month orientation course for the DGFS fellows. At the time of joining, the monthly emoluments with three increments including dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and transport allowance will be as per the present Mumbai rate which is Rs 1,05,000.
