Secondary Education Department of Assam issued a public notice on May 19, 2021, announcing the result dates for the Higher Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Post Graduate teachers. According to the notice, the results have been announced today, May 22, 2021, at 11:00 am. Candidates who had appeared for the eligibility test can check their results on one of the two official websites – ssa.assam.gov.in or sebaonline.org. To download their scorecards, candidates have to enter their exam application number and password on the official portal.
Assam Secondary Level TET Examination 2020 was conducted on January 10, 2021, by the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA). However, on the requests and representations by several TET candidates, the matter about exam answer key was taken up by the TET Empowered Committee with the help of various subject experts. Subsequently, authorities have decided to revise and change the TET answer key, accommodating all the suggested changes.
Based on this answer key, results have been published today for the eligibility test on the official website. Candidates are advised to download their score card or take a printout of the same for future admission formalities. During the release of the official advertisement for the eligibility test on November 18, 2020, authorities had already specified the cut-off marks needed to qualify the examination.

According to the official advertisement, candidates have to score a minimum of 60 percent marks in each of the two papers. However, a 5 percent relaxation has been provided to SC, ST, OBC, MOBC or PH category candidates. Hence, they are required to score at least 55 percent marks in each paper. However, candidates having more than 40 percent disability shall be deemed eligible to apply under the PH category. Additionally, candidates must bear in mind that they shall be declared “qualified” only after passing both papers separately.
Authorities have further clarified that candidates who clear the Assam Secondary Level TET Examination 2020 shall be awarded a certificate. The validity of this certificate shall remain in place for a period of 7 years. This period shall start from the date of issuance of certificate by the Empowered Committee of the Assam state government.
Apart from qualifying the exam, candidates has to fulfil all the eligibility criteria specified by the state government for the recruitment of Post Graduate Teacher (PET). They must also provide valid documents to prove their eligibility. In case of any false or inadequate information, authorities shall not issue the TET certificate to such candidates, even if they have qualified the exam. In case the certificate has been issued, it shall be cancelled if the candidate is found not-eligible.
