The Indian Army has published a short notification regarding the commissioning of Civilian Dental Surgeons in the Army Dental Corps for the 2021 session. As per the short notice, the Indian Army will soon release the full details and notification for Short Service Commission of Civilian Dental Surgeons (BDS & MDS) in Army Dental Corps 2021. The Commissioning will be done on the basis of NEET MDS 2021 score which will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations in 2021.
In the past,. the Army has conducted recruitment of Civilian Dental Surgeons on the basis of NEET MDS score to the rank of Captain in the Army Dental Corps. As per the short notice now available at joinindianarmy.nic.in, a similar procedure is to be conducted in the upcoming year as well. The short notice reads –
“Director Gen Armed Forces Medical Services will invite applications from Civilian Dental Surgeons (BDS & MDS) for Grant of Short Service Commission, for the commissioning cycle of 2021 on the basis of NEET MDS-2021 to be conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, under the aegis of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI.“
Although further details of the Commissioning will be released at the aforementioned website of the Indian Army in due course of time, the Director Gen Armed Forces Medical Services has already clarified in the short notice that Civilian Dental Surgeons holding BDS and MDS qualifications are required to mandatorily appear in the NEET MDS 2021 exam for grant of Short Service Commission in Army Dental Corps 2021. As such, eligible candidates who are desirous of joining the Army Dental Corps through this recruitment process are advised to keep a lookout on the NBE website for the notification of NEET MDS 2021.
Based on previous year trends, besides the mandatory requirement to appear in the NEET MDS 2021, certain other minimum eligibility conditions are also expected to be applicable for this recruitment. For example, in the past, minimum physical standards in regards to Height and Weight were specified for applicants. All such details are expected to be indicated by the Indian Army with the release of the Army Dental Corps 2021 Notification at the official website.
The Indian Army has also indicated the selection procedure for Short Service Commissioning in the short notice. Excerpts from the notice read “Based on the Score in NEET MDS-2021, candidates will be screened/ shortlisted for the Interview”. As such, candidates have to qualify the NEET MDS 2021 exam with a good score in order to enhance the possibilities of selection for the interview.
