Indian Airforce has published detailed recruitment notifications for intake of eligible candidates to the post of Airmen in 2020. Notifications for conduct of Airmen recruitment rally to be held from December 10 to 19, 2020 are published at the website airmenselection.cdac.in. Separate notifications are available for the rally to be conducted in five different locations i.e. New Delhi, Kanpur, Patna, Puducherry and Bhopal. Eligible and intending candidates have to complete the pre-registration process which is commencing on November 27, 2020. The last date of registration is November 28, 2020. Selected candidates are to be appointed for the post of Airmen in Group X and Group Y in specified trades. Candidates are advised to read the detailed advertisements at the official website before applying.
As per the notifications available on the official website, the rally at the locations of New Delhi, Kanpur and Patna will be conducted for intake of Group X trades (except the trade of Education Instructor). On the other hand, the rally at the Puducherry and Bhopal locations are to be conducted for intake of Group Y trades (except the trades of Autotech, IAF (P), IAF (S) and Musician trades). Candidates intending to apply for the recruitment are advised to go through the corresponding recruitment notification carefully and ensure that they fulfil all the specified eligibility conditions before applying. At first, candidates are required to fulfil the domicile requirement as indicated in the corresponding notification for each location. In addition, all applicants must be born between January 17, 2000 and December 30, 2003 (both dates inclusive) in order to apply. The IAF has also specified the minimum educational qualifications required to apply for these recruitment. Candidates must have passed Class 12th exam with the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and English. One must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in order to apply. In addition, candidates who have passed 3 years regular Diploma in relevant trade of Engineering are also eligible to apply given that they must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Selection of candidates is to be done through the recruitment rally at first. The rally will include Physical Fitness Test, Written Test and two stages of Adaptability Tests. Those who qualify the PFT will be required to appear in the Written Test which will be conducted on the same day or on subsequent days depending on local conditions. The written test will consist of an objective type paper based on the subjects of Physics, Maths and English at the 10+2 CBSE standard. There shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Detailed procedure shall be explained before the conduct of the examination. Candidates qualifying in the written test will be sorted through Adaptability Tests 1 & 2. Final PSL will be published on the official website after the completion of the medical examination.
