The Andhra University has released the APSET 2021 notification on the official website i.e. apset.net.in. According to the official notification, the application form filling will commence from August 11, 2021, to September 13, 2021. The notification has also notified that the entrance examination will be conducted on October 31, 2021. There are two papers in the examination and the same will be conducted in two shifts i.e. Paper 1 from 09:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. While Paper 2 will be held on the same day in the second shift i.e. 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
The candidates who clear this exam will be subjected to appointments and promotions to the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professors in Universities and Colleges of the Andhra Pradesh state.
According to the official website, the Unreserved candidates who have scored at least 55% marks in the Master’s degree from a recognised University can apply for the APSET 2021. The minimum aggregate mark for the SC/ST/PwD/transgender categories is 50%. Along with this, the candidates who have been in the final year of a Master’s degree are also eligible to apply. As of now, there is no upper age limit for the applicants.
However, the candidates who belong to the transgender community will be eligible for relaxation in fee, age criteria and qualifying criteria for SET as applicable to SC/ST/PwD categories. The University has mentioned that candidates who have earlier qualified UGC NET or APSET cannot apply for the same subject again in APSET 2021.
The exam pattern of the APSET 2021 comprises two papers and thus it is concluded in two shifts. The first paper i.e. General Paper is common for all the candidates and comprise questions from the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Paper 1 has 50 questions in total and each question accounts for 2 marks. There is no provision of negative marking in Paper 1 and the exam is held in the OMR Sheet or offline method. The language of the question paper is bilingual i.e. English and Telugu.
While Paper II is a subject-specific exam and will be held in the offline format too. The candidate has to choose any subject between Commerce/Economic/Education/History/Political Science/Public Administration and Sociology/Hindi/Sanskrit/Telugu and Urdu. There will be 100 questions from any subject and the language of the paper will be bilingual i.e. English and Telugu.
While only the subjects like Hindi/Sanskrit/Telugu and Urdu will have questions in their respective languages. The marking scheme accounts have 2 marks for every correct answer while no negative marking for the wrong answer.
