The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened a special stray vacancy round of NEET UG 2026 counselling for MBBS seats that are still vacant, along with a fifth round for BDS and B.Sc Nursing. Registration on mcc.nic.in is open until 3 PM on 4 November 2026, choices must be locked by 11 AM on 5 November, and the result is due on 7 November.
MCC’s seat matrix, released on 2 November, lists 1,219 seats: 946 MBBS, 207 BDS and 66 B.Sc Nursing. Later the same day it added two more MBBS seats: one NRI-quota seat at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, New Delhi, and one OBC-PwD seat at Stanley Medical College, Chennai.
Most MBBS seats are in deemed universities
Of the 946 MBBS seats in the matrix, 920 are self-financed merit seats in deemed universities. Only 26 are in government and central institutions under the All India and other quotas, and 10 of those are reserved for candidates with disabilities. Deemed university fees are far higher than government college fees, so check each college’s fee, and whether your family can pay it for the whole course, before you add it to your choices.

State quota rounds run at the same time
Under MCC’s schedule for states, state counselling authorities will hold their own special stray round from 3 to 7 November, and the last date of joining is 16 November for both. MCC will share the list of candidates allotted All India Quota seats with the states on 7 November so they can be removed from state lists. If you are taking part in both, keep track of both sets of deadlines.
Before you register
- Check that you are eligible. MCC’s schedule notice does not repeat the eligibility and fee-forfeiture rules for this round; read them in the NEET UG counselling information on mcc.nic.in before you pay.
- Choose only colleges you will join. MCC’s schedule has no further MBBS round after this one; the next round, from 17 November, is only for BDS and B.Sc Nursing.
- Use only the official site. MCC issued an advisory about fake notices in October; follow updates only on mcc.nic.in.
For cut-offs and state-wise counselling links, see the NEET counselling page on AglaSem Admission. Our earlier report on the Round 1 schedule has the document list.
