Candidates still looking for an MBA, MCA or M.Tech seat in Karnataka have one more chance. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will hold a final extended round of PGCET 2026 seat allotment after the Supreme Court extended the admission deadline for these courses on 29 October. To take part, candidates must pay a caution deposit by 3 November 2026 and enter their options afresh by 2 PM on 4 November. The provisional result is due after 1 PM on 5 November.
The round will fill seats that were never allotted and seats that fell vacant because candidates allotted in the 13–15 October round did not take admission. KEA has published the schedule in a notice dated 29 October (in Kannada).
Why there is another round
Admission deadlines for technical courses such as MBA, MCA and M.Tech are set by the Supreme Court in the long-running case Parshvanath Charitable Trust v. All India Council for Technical Education. According to KEA, the court on 29 October 2026 (MA 3034/2026 in Civil Appeal No. 9048 of 2012) extended the 2026 admission date for PGCET courses and directed KEA to hold one more round of seat allotment. KEA calls this the last extended round, so candidates should not expect another one.

Who can take part
- Candidates who did not get a seat in any earlier round.
- Candidates who were allotted a seat and joined the college, if they want to try for a better one (upgradation). They do not need to pay the caution deposit.
- Candidates who cancelled their allotted seat by paying the penalty.
Who cannot: candidates allotted a seat in the 13–15 October round who did not pay the fee or join the college. KEA gave them until 6 PM on 31 October to pay and join. Those who did can now take part for an upgrade, or cancel the seat by paying a Rs 10,000 penalty online and then take part. Candidates who had already cancelled their seat after paying the full fee will get their money back after a Rs 10,000 deduction.
Read this before you pay the deposit
- A seat in this round is binding. If you are allotted a seat and then do not pay the balance fee, do not join, or want to cancel, KEA will forfeit your caution deposit, and under its rules you will have to pay the full fee as a penalty.
- Old options do not count. Options entered in earlier rounds will not be considered. Enter them again, in order of preference, before 2 PM on 4 November.
- List only colleges you will actually join. If you get a seat, the deposit is adjusted against your fee; if you back out, you lose it.
