Students who made a mistake in their JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application can now start again. In a public notice dated 30 October, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said candidates may submit a fresh application form even if they have already generated an application number or paid the fee. The last date is 11:50 PM on 22 November 2026, or 26 November with a late fee of Rs 500.
There is a cost: the fee paid for the earlier form is neither refunded nor adjusted. NTA says candidates who only need to change a few details should use the correction window from 27 to 29 November instead.
How the fresh form works
- Only your last paid form counts. NTA will treat the last form for which the fee was paid and the confirmation page generated as valid. If you start a fresh form but do not pay, your earlier completed form stays valid.
- Everything has to be entered again. Each fresh form gets a new application number, and the photograph, signature and documents must be uploaded again.
- One attempt per session. Appearing, or trying to appear, with more than one application number will be treated as unfair means. Simply holding more than one number is not.
NTA has not yet said which details can be changed in the 27–29 November correction window. If you are not sure your error can be fixed there, a fresh form before 22 November is the safer route, but you will pay the fee again.
Before you start: DigiLocker re-KYC
Many of the errors come from identity details. In an advisory dated 28 October, NTA asked candidates to:
- log in with their own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan) account, to avoid identity and biometric mismatches at later stages;
- do re-KYC on DigiLocker before filling the form, so that their latest details are fetched;
- make sure their name and date of birth match the Class 10 certificate or marksheet exactly.
