All India Institute Of Medical Science has released the official timetable for AIIMS PhD. 2021 exam on the official website, aiimsexams.ac.in. As per the official datasheet, the AIIMS PhD exam 2021 is scheduled for October 31, 2021, for the candidates who have applied for it. The PhD entrance exam by AIIMS shall be conducted in different test centres across Delhi NCR only.
The admit card will be released on October 25 and the expected date of the result is November 09, 2021. The notice further reads that the departmental assessment for successful candidates shall commence from November 16 and the final result is going to be released on November 23, 2021.
AIIMS Delhi has reported 78 seats for admissions in the PhD program and a total of 36 seats are funded and the remaining is for those candidates who have their Government fellowship programs.
As per the official brochure, the entrance test of AIIMS PhD is going to have 70 questions and will be held through the computer-based test. There shall be two stages in the entrance exam i.e. stage 1 has 30 questions and stage 2 has 40 questions. Stage 1 is going to have questions from Aptitude along with English and stage 2 will have questions based on concerned subjects. The candidates will get 90 minutes to complete the AIIMS PhD entrance exam.
For each correct answer, the candidates will get 1 mark and there shall be a deduction of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer. The minimum qualifying marks for both the stages viz. 35% of total marks assigned to each stage. However, in case two candidates score the same marks in the AIIMS PhD exam then the tie shall be resolved based on the candidate’s age.
Once the result for the AIIMS PhD exam is released, a third stage i.e. stream-based assessment cum practical test will be conducted for 20 marks. The final result for the successful candidates shall be drafted based on 50% of aggregate marks scored in stage 1 + stage 2 and combined marks of stage 3.
After qualifying for the AIIMS PhD exam, the candidates will be appointed as doctoral students for a minimum period of 3 years and the maximum period for the same is 5 years. An extension of 6 months can be provided if the candidate wants to extend the learning period of 5 years.
