AFCAT 2021: The Last 2 Weeks Preparation Guide To Ace Air Force Common Admission Test

Indian Air Force is all set to conduct the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2021 on August 28, 29 and 30, 2021. This exam is part of the selection process for recruiting Group A Gazetted Officers in two branches – Flying and Ground Duty. This elaborate screening process is comprised of AFCAT along with Medical Screening, Personal Interview round, Psychology and GTO test, etc. To qualify for the subsequent rounds, candidates must first qualify the AFCAT 02 2021 examination. It will be held through the online mode, testing intellectual capacities of candidates in various subjects. With just two weeks left for the entrance test, here is a 2-week preparation strategy to ace the exam.

The first step of the preparation guide is to ensure that all topics in the syllabus are covered. The AFCAT 02 2021 exam covers four subjects – English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude and, General Knowledge. Following are the topics to be studied in each subject –

English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Synonyms, Antonyms and Vocabulary testing, Sentence completion, etc.

Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Simple Interest, Ratio and Proportion, etc

Reasoning and Military Aptitude – Verbal Skills and Spatial Skills

General Knowledge – History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Sciences, etc

After ensuring that all topics are covered, jot down the topics which are difficult or tricky, varying from one candidate to another. With two weeks left for the exam, no stone must be left unturned. Hence, take a few hours or days to understand and revise these topics. However, don’t let complacency take its toll on the preparation. There must be a proper balance between revising the simpler topics and focusing on the difficult ones.

The next step is to dedicate a few hours every day for mock tests and previous year question papers. Now that candidates are approaching the last stage of their preparation, they must use these papers to practice and revise concepts in General Aptitude, grammar rules in English and important mathematical formulae in Numerical Ability.

In case of Military Aptitude, read the study material and latest developments along with practising previous-year questions. Every year, IAF dedicates a whole section just to test a candidate’s military aptitude. Hence, to not compromise on the overall performance in AFCAT 02 2021 examination, do not take this subject lightly.

Coming back to mock tests, it is not possible for candidates to solve 6-7 AFCAT 02 2021 mock exams every day. The point is to solve at least 3 mock exams and simultaneously, revise the portion. Solving a mock exam or previous-year question paper one day before the exam can help candidates stay in the exam grid.

With incessant preparation, it is also important to follow a healthy lifestyle. Make sure to get adequate sleep a day prior to the AFCAT 02 2021 examination. All The best!
