XAT 2019 - 5 common Mistakes to Avoid

XLRI has been conducting Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) on January 06, 2019. Candidates must be curious to know what surprises will XAT bring this year. Apart from the few changes in the XAT 2019 exam pattern, it is hard to guess if the exam proves to be a tough nut to crack. As only a few hours have been left for the exam, candidates must relax and do not self-doubt.

The difficulty level of the exam is not predictable right now, but some common mistakes on the exam day can lead to unnecessary trouble. So, to avoid any inconvenience, candidates must adhere to exam rules and instructions laid by XLRI.

Importantly, the exam conducting has not released any specific instructions for dress code. So, in such case, candidates can wear anything comfortable. For footwear, it will be better if the fingers are visible. Avoid any kind of jewelry, metal chains, belts, open hair etc.

XAT 2019 Dress Code

#1. Admit Card and Identity Proof Mandatory

Candidates often forget to carry the important documents for the exam day. Due to which they are not allowed to take the exam. So, candidates must keep at arm’s length from such situations. Thus, carry 2 copies of XAT 2019 admit card and an identity proof in original. Candidates must also paste recent passport size photograph on the hall ticket. Also, submit one copy of the admit card to the invigilator.

#2. Follow the Important Exam Timings

Candidates must comply with the XAT 2019 Exam Timings. Candidates must reach the exam centre latest by 8:30 AM. There is no entry after 9:40 AM. As the document verification and bio-metric process take time, it is advisable to reach the test centre in time. Also, the login for the exam will start at 09:50 AM. The exam will start exactly at 10:00 AM and will be over at 01:00 PM.

Candidates will get 165 minutes to complete Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Data Interpretation & Quantitative Ability. Rest 15 minutes is allocated for General Knowledge section. Extra 10 minutes per hour is allotted to Visually Impaired Candidates.

#3. Do not Reach Late at the Exam Centre

Candidates must reach the exam centre as mentioned on the admit card. Candidates can locate the test centre using the google link embedded on it. Any request for the change of exam entre will not be entertained by the exam body. XAT 2019 will conduct in 46 cities all over India.

#4. A Big No for Prohibited Items

Test takers are requested not to take any prohibited items inside the exam hall. As this is the computer-based examination, it is not required to carry any kind of study material or stationery items. Also, electronic items, calculators, watches, food items, jewelry are not allowed on the exam day. Candidates have to keep all such items outside the exam hall at their own risk. Scribbled paper and pen will be provided to candidates.

#5. Bio-metrics and Attendance

Candidates must put their signatures on the admit card in the presence of invigilator only. Also, co-operate during the bio-metric process. Candidates must not have any kind of artificial tattoos on the fingers.
