XAT 2019 Exam Difficult than last year; Cut Off Expected to Dip

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2019 has been conducted by the Xavier School Of Management(XLRI), Jamshedpur today on January 06, 2019. The test was conducted from 10 AM to 1 PM at different centers. The overall difficiulty level of the test is said to be slightly difficult than last year.

Many changes were introduced in the XAT exam, like, Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions were introduced for the first time in XAT. Furthermore, the duration of the exam was also shortened from 3 and a half hours to only hours.

As per some students, the paper this year was overall difficult, while Enligsh being one of the most difficult section from the three sections. Decision making and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation had questions that were Moderate Difficult level.

Talking separately about the sections in XAT Paper, the first being English Language and Logical Reasoning. This section had a total of 26 questions, 4 of them were RC and were the most difficult. There was a poem format question that too was quite a bit challenging for candidates.

The second section was Decision Making, which was Moderate to Difficult. This section had a total of 21 questions and most students commented that they were not happy with their performance. There were 2 paragraph based questions in this section.

The last section that was Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation too was a bit challenging for candidates. There were a total of 27 questions in this section which were from Moderate to Difficult.

Part B consists of questions from GK and there was no major surprise in thi section. There were 25 questions from Part B and it carried no negative mark and was of same difficulty level as last year.

Talking overall about XAT 2019, it was overall difficult for the candidates who took the test this year and candidates were not very satisfied by their performance in the test.

With then overall exam on a Difficult side, it is expected that the cut off XAT 2019 may go down. The overall cut-off for XLRI shall remain the same at 29, QA and DI section was similar to last year, hence, the expected cut-off shall be at a score of 11.3. VA and LR section was slightly difficult and expected cutoff is 7 a fall of 0.5 from the previous year, DM was similar to last year and the expected cut-off is 8.5. | TOP MBA COLLEGES ACCEPTING XAT SCORE

Now, that XAT 2019 has been conducted, many coaching institutes will release the XAT answer key for the candidates to cross-check their answers and estimate their XAT score. Official answer key might be released by XLRI as this year answer key for CAT and equivalent paper were also released.

XAT 2019 result will be declared officially by XLRI on the official website xatonline.in. Candidates will require their ID and password in order to login and obtain their result. All the candidates who will qualify the test will be called for the further selection process conducted by XLRI for final admission.
