West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has declared WBCHSE HS class 12 Result 2021. Statistics pertaining to the result were formally announced in the press conference addressed by the board President, Dr. Mahua Das, at Rabindra Milan Mancha, 7th floor, Vidyasagar Bhavan of the Council.
Amid a surge in the Covid-19 pandemic situation across the country, the state Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee announced cancellation of West Bengal board exams 2021. Hence, for the evaluation of the students for the cancelled examination, a special evaluation criteria has been prepared. As per the scheme released, the top 4 highest scoring subjects in class 10 examinations are given importance along with class 11 annual examinations. Class 10 scores will be given a 40 percent weightage and the rest of the 60 percent is given to class 11 finals and class 12 practicals and theory.

WB HS Result 2021 Declared – 97.69% Pass Percentage Recorded
This year, a total of 8,19,202 students were enrolled in class 12th. The overall pass percentage stands at 97.69%.
The pass percentage of boys and girls are similar to each other, at 97.7%. As per the President of WBCHSE, all districts have a pass percentage of 90% or above.
The same for minorities is 97.46%, and that for tapasili jati students is 97.33%.
Stream wise, the pass percentages are; 97.39% for Arts, 99.28% for Science, and 99.8% for Commerce.
In the language specific students, the pass percentages are 98.47% for Urdu, 97.81% for Nepali, 96.74% for Saotali.
The number of students with O grade are less than last time. The number of students who got O grade is 9, 013, whereas it was 30,220 in 2020.
Likewise the number of students with A grade is around 95,000 whereas last year it was more than 95,000
This year, the highest score has been bagged by a female Muslim student. She has got 499 out of 500 marks. However the board has not disclosed her name.

A series of unfortunate events – How WB Board Exams Were Affected in 2021 and 2020
Last year, the WBCHSE results faced a different set of problems – Due to the pandemic, 14 subject papers could not be held. In addition, cyclone amphan had affected the evaluation process, due to which answer sheets were held up at railway stations and police stations.
This year West Bengal boards – both for 10th, and 12th – had to cancel the board exams owing to the pandemic. The state government led by Mamta Banerjee had formed an expert committee and also sought inputs from people of the state. Keeping the feedback of people in mind, and weighing the expert opinion, it was decided that board exams would be cancelled.

WBCHSE Result 2021: Highest pass percentage recorded last year
The pass percentage stood at 90.13% last year, which has been the highest ever. In the year before, i.e. in 2019, the pass percentage was 86.29%.
Last year, four students scored 499 / 500. Over 50% of the students who had passed got 1st division i.e. more than 60% marks. Also, 30,220 students got 90% and above – in 2018, only 7,818 students had got 90% and above.
