The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) canceled the UPTET 2021 (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) which was going to be conducted on the 28th of November, 2021. The exam was canceled on such short notice because the question paper got leaked by certain miscreants on social media. CM Yogi Adityanath had assured that the exam would be conducted within a month. The new exam date has not been released yet but is expected to be scheduled for January 23, 2022. The notification would be put up on the official website updeled.gov.in. Interested candidates should keep an eye on the notice board for the latest updates.
Furthermore, it has been notified that all the registered candidates would be issued a new admit card and certain test centers would be changed. Candidates would be reallocated to other test centers in the purview of conducting the examinations fairly this time.
The registered candidates will have to download their admit cards again and this is how they can do so:
Step 1– Visit the official website at updeled.gov.in
Step 2– Find the notification to download the new admit card when it is uploaded.
Step 3– Login with the credentials created during the registration i.e. the UPTET registration number and password.
Step 4– The admit card will be available for download on the screen. Download and take its printout for future use.
According to the exam pattern, the exam consists of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates who wish to apply for teaching Classes 1-5 are supposed to sit for Paper 1 whereas candidates who want to apply for teaching Classes 6-8 are supposed to sit for Paper 2. Paper 1 consists of four sections/subjects and Paper 2 consists of five. Any candidate who wants to apply for teaching Classes 1-8 should sit for both of these papers.
The duration of each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The questions are asked in a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format for a total of 150 marks. There is no provision for negative marking. The minimum marks required for qualification is 60% for general category students and 55% for reserved category.
Any aspirant of India/Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan nationality between the ages of 18-35 is eligible to write this exam. The estimated registration for the Primary Teacher’s Post is 13 lakhs and for the Upper Teacher’s Post is 8.5 lakhs. All the registered candidates are now awaiting the release of the new exam date.
