Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced the dates of the Preliminary Eligibility Test (UPSSSC PET) 2021. According to the notice released on the official website i.e upsssc.gov.in, UPSSSC PET is scheduled to take place on August 20 2021, in two shifts. As per the reports, 20,73,540 candidates have already applied for the UPSSSC PET 2021. The commission is planning to schedule the main exam in the month of October, after completing the preliminary exam in August. Candidates are advised to check the official website in order to know the release date of the admit card.
The announcement came after a meeting was held between Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr Yogi Adityanath and the Chairman of the Commission Mr Pravir Kumar. Reportedly, the agenda of the meeting was to discuss how the first phase of UPSSSC PET 2021 will be conducted and how to speed up the process of recruitment for Group C posts. Dates of the exam were also discussed during the same meeting, which is already official now, along with the probable date of the result, which is expected to be out in September 2021.
UPSSSC PET 2021 exam is going to be for 2 hours, and candidates have to answer 100 multiple choice questions of 100 marks, i.e each question carrying 01 marks. There is a provision of negative marking, 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Questions will be asked from the topics related to General Awareness, Current Affairs, General Hindi, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning etc. In order to know the complete details of the topics and syllabus of the exam, candidates should refer to the detailed brochure available on the official website.
It is mandatory for the candidates to appear in the preliminary exam in order to be eligible to participate in the main exam, the exact dates of which will be announced soon. Shortlisting of the candidates for the main exam will be done based on the PET marks, final merit list will be published after both the stages, i.e prelims and mains are over. It is clearly mentioned in the official notification, that the score of the UPSSSC PET 2021 exam will be applicable on future posts and not for the vacancies announced in past.
The application process for UPSSSC PET 2021 began on May 25, 2021, and was ended on June 21, 2021. The last date to make the correction in the application form was June 28. It is expected that the complete schedule of UPSSSC PET will be out by the end of July 2021. Candidates should visit the official website of the commission to stay updated about the exam.
