With the UPSC NDA 1 2021 result of the written exam expected to release before the end of this month, a common enquiry among candidates is regarding the documents required to appear in the SSB interviews. The UPSC conducted the NDA 1 2021 exam on April 18, 2021, and the result is yet to be announced officially.
Once the result is released, candidates will be able to check the same from the official website upsc.gov.in. The complete selection procedure consists of the SSB Interviews following the written exam. Only those candidates who qualify through the written exam of the NDA 1 2021 are eligible to appear in the SSB interview. However, to appear in the interviews, candidates have to carry certain documents with them.
Original Certificates required during NDA 2021 SSB interviews
The Union Public Service Commission has detailed the complete procedure to follow by qualifiers of the NDA 1 2021 written exam for appearing in the SSB interviews. Among other instructions, the UPSC has also included the details of the original certificates that must be submitted by the qualifiers during the SSB interviews.
As per the official notification of the NDA 1 2021 exam available on upsc.gov.in, the SSB interviews are conducted as a two-stage process. On the first day of the SSB interview, candidates are required to appear in Stage I of the interview. Only those who qualify the Stage I are eligible to appear in the Stage II selection tests of the SSB Interview process.
Candidates who qualify the Stage II of the NDA 1 2021 SSB Interviews will be required to furnish the following documents in original along with a photocopy of each document.
- Original Matriculation pass certificate or its equivalent in support of date of birth.
- Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.
Qualifying candidates are advised to read the detailed notification carefully for the complete instructions to appear in the SSB interviews. It may be noted that qualifiers of the NDA 1 2021 written exams have to log in to the respective website of the Army/Navy/Air Force within 2 weeks of the release of the result in order to get their SSB Interview date and centre.
03 Alternate Ways to Join Indian Army
The NDA exam is just one channel for recruitment as a commissioned officer in the Indian defence forces including the Indian Army. However, there are other recruitment exams that can also be taken for recruitment to the Indian Army. The details are as follows.
Combined Defence Service – The Combined Defence Service exam is a graduate-level recruitment exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of graduate candidates as Commissioned officers in the Indian defence forces including the Indian Army. The exam is conducted twice a year and while the CDS 1 2021 exam is already over, UPSC is set to release the official notification of CDS 2 2021 on August 04, 2021.
Technical Entry Scheme – The Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is a direct recruitment process of the Indian Army for 10+2 qualified candidates. As per reports, online registrations for TES 2021 for admission to the 46th course commencing in July 2022 is expected to release in July-August 2021. Passing the JEE Main is now a mandatory criterion for recruitment through TES.
Army Recruitment Rally – Indian Army conducts Army Recruitment Rallies throughout the year in different locations for recruitment to fill up Soldier and other posts. The rally notifications are released on the official website of the Indian Army i.e. joinindianarmy.nic.in. The rallies are conducted by respective Army Recruitment Offices (AROs) situated at different locations throughout India. The minimum eligibility for such rallies includes Class 10 and Class 12 pass.
