The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification to apply for the Combined Defense Services (CDS) exam today, on 22 December 2021. The notification is to fill 341 vacancies of various posts at the Defense Services. The official notification and syllabus for UPSC CDS 2022 are available in English at the official website upsc.gov.in.
As candidates are searching for the syllabus in Hindi, certain online academic portals have released the Hindi version of the UPSC CDS syllabus. This syllabus is a handy tool for aspirants who are planning to write the exam in the Hindi medium. The candidates can apply for UPSC CDS 2022 by 6 p.m on January 11, 2022, on the official website upsc.gov.in through online mode only.
The exam will be conducted offline on April 10, 202,2 at various centers across India. All the questions will be objective-type questions. The question paper will be available in English and Hindi. The examination for admission into Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and the Air Force Academy (AFA) will have three sections and the test for admission into Officers Training Academy (OTA) will have two sections. Around two hours will be allotted to complete each section of the exam.
Syllabus
The English section will have questions from spotting errors, sentence rearrangement, synonyms/antonyms, comprehension, and idioms and phrases. The General Awareness Section will have questions from several Humanities subjects including Economics, Polity, Sociology, History, and Geography. Further, it will also cover portions from the Sciences and Current Affairs, including awards conferred to defense personnel. The Mathematics section will have questions from Algebra, Arithmeticsm Trigonometry, Geometry, and Mensuration.
