The Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) 2021 has been postponed in view of the ongoing situations of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. UPCATET 2021 was earlier scheduled to be held on June 16-17, 2021. However, the conducting University in Meerut (UP) has officially postponed the exam by releasing a short notice on the official website upcatetadmissions.org.
UPCATET is an examination conducted by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut, UP. On the basis of merit in the UPCATET 2021 exam, qualifying candidates can get admission to various Agricultural & Technology courses offered by State Agricultural Universities in Uttar Pradesh.
The conducting University commenced online registrations for the state level exam in February 2021. While the online registration and application process has already concluded in May 2021, registered candidates have been waiting for the exam to be conducted in June 2021 as per the earlier schedule. The admit cards for appearing in the exam were also scheduled to be released in June 2021 before the exam. However, as per latest announcements, the exam stands postponed indefinitely now and revised exam dates will be issued by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology in due course of time.
In other news, the National Testing Agency is yet to announce the exam date of the ICAR AIEEA 2021 examinations. ICAR AIEEA UG/PG and JRF/SRF entrance tests are conducted for admission to agricultural courses at the UG and PG level. It is also conducted for determining eligibility for award of Junior Research Fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship to qualifying candidates. NTA has not yet confirmed the exact dates of conducting these agricultural entrance examinations. However, based on previous year trends, the online applications were expected to commence in April 2021.
In Andhra Pradesh, Acharya N.G Ranga Agricultural University (AGRAU) conducts Agriculture Common Entrance Test (AGRICET) for admission to B.Sc (Hons) agricultural degree course. The examination is usually conducted in the month of July every year. Last year, the exam was delayed owing to ongoing circumstances and was conducted in November. However, based on previous year trends, the exam is expected to be conducted in July 2021. The conducting body has not however confirmed the exact schedule of the agricultural entrance test to be held in 2021.
Another important agricultural entrance test in India is KEAM which is essentially the Kerala Engineering, Agricultural and Medical entrance test. The official exam date or schedule of events of KEAM 2021 is not yet announced although as per latest reports, the examination may be held in July 2021.
