Students must already be knowing that the responsibility of conducting many of the biggest exams such as the UGC NET 2018 is given to the National Testing Agency. However, the latest change in the application procedure is of the website itself. The NTA has introduced a new official website ntanet.nic.in. Candidates who want to appear for the Paper 1 and 2 for the Junior Research Fellowship and the Assistant Professor programs should be spreading this new update to all the fellow aspirants.

The Application forms for the UGC NET 2018 have also been released from September 01, 2018 to September 30, 2018. There shouldn’t be a room for the delay since the students will only be able to submit their applications till the last date i.e September 30, 2018. However, there is a relaxation of 1 day for paying the Application fee. Students will be asked for the UGC NET 2018 Admit card which will be available on the official website of NTA i.e nta.ac.in.

Students are provided the window to register for the test practice centres. This is where the students can appear for the mock test before appearing for the UGC NET 2018 exam. Appearing for the mock tests at the test practice centers will help the candidates of the rural areas in understanding the environment of the exam. But first, the students will have to register themselves on nta.ac.in

Not to mention, candidates should definitely check the eligibility criteria for the UGC NET 2018 before filling the application form or paying the fee. Speaking of the Application fee, the students are informed by the NTA that although the application procedure has remained the same. But, there have been changes in the Application fee. The Application fee to be paid by the General Category candidates is Rs 800/- while the SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates have to pay Rs 200/- and the fee for the candidates belonging to the OBC and NCL category have to pay Rs 400 as their application fee.

The exam pattern for the UGC NET 2018 has not been changed by the NTA. The exam will consist of two papers conducted by the NTA wiz Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will contain 50 questions of 2 marks each whereas Paper 2 will contain 100 questions of 2 marks each. Objective type questions will be asked in both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Students will have to complete the Paper 1 in 1 Hr whereas 2 hrs will be available for the Paper 2. Students are also informed that both the exams will be conducted in online mode only.

In the previous year, the students were provided a list of 91 cities where the UGC NET exam was conducted. However, the NTA has given a list of 226 test centers with each center having a unique code. Students can choose any 4 test centers as their preference. However, just like many other things, the decision of allotting the exam centers is also in the hands of the NTA.
