The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is expected to release the official notification for the Combined Civil Services examination II. According to sources, a press meeting regarding the issuance of the same notification is going to be held today, i.e. February 18, 2022. This seems to be likely since the tentative recruitment planner 2022 mentioned that the tentative month for the notification to be released is February, 2022. The vacancies for the TNPSC group 2 recruitment have been divided into II and IIA. While II has 116 vacancies, IIA has 5413 vacancies.

Although the exact date for the examination has not been announced, the prelims exam will be held in May, 2022 while the mains will be conducted in September, 2022. The results will be declared one month after the prelims exam is held. Candidates can check the complete schedule from the table given below.

Eligibility Criteria
The official notification, as and when it is released, will contain all information regarding the eligibility criteria. However, based on the previous notification, it is seen that the applying candidate must be fluent in the Tamil language and should have the required age limit. This age limit also varies depending on the post the candidate has applied to. There will be no age limit for the SC, ST, OBC and destitute widow candidates. On the other hand, the candidates belonging to the PWD category will get a 10-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
Educational Qualification
Similar to the age limit, the educational qualification also differs depending on the post applied for. As understood, the basic educational qualification that every candidate must have is a Bachelor’s degree. There are other requirements as well which can be ascertained once the notification is out.
Exam Pattern
There are two subjects in the TNPSC group 2 prelims examination. The first one is the General Studies from which 175 questions will be asked and the second one is the Aptitude and Mental Ability Test from which 25 questions are going to be asked. A duration of 03 hours will be given. The total marks of the prelims exam are 300. Those candidates who will qualify for the prelims exam are going to be called for the mains round.
