Tamil Nadu Medical Recruitment Board (TN MRB) is recruiting eligible candidates for the 66 vacant posts of Assistant Medical Officer. Departments in which these Assistant Medical Officers are required are Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Siddha. The examinations for Assistant Medical Officer is tentatively scheduled to be held in the third week of September 2020. Online registrations for the announced posts has started from August 14, 2020, onwards. Aspirants can submit their form before September 10, 2020.
Out of the total 66 vacancies, 01 vacancies are announced for the Assistant Medical Officer (Unani), 54 vacancies for Assistant Medical Officer (Siddha), 03 vacancies for Assistant Medical Officer (Ayurveda), 05 vacancies for Assistant Medical Officer (Homoeopathy) and 03 vacancies for the Assistant Medical Officer / Lecturer Grade-II (Yoga and Naturopathy). The recruitment to these posts is purely on a temporary basis.
To apply for the Assistant Medical Officer (Yoga and Naturopathy), candidates must possess a degree or diploma in Naturopathy. They must be registered with the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine, Chennai. Those are applying for the Assistant Medical Officer (Homoeopathy) must have a post-graduation diploma in the Faculty of Homoeopathy. A BUM&S or other equivalent degree is required to apply for Assistant Medical Officer (Unani). Those who have HPIM (Ayurveda) or L.I.M. (Ayurveda) or GCIM (Ayurveda) or BAMS degree and registration certificate Central Board of Indian Medicine / Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine, Chennai can apply for Assistant Medical Officer (Ayurveda). Candidates who have HPIM. (Siddha) or MD (Siddha) or GCIM (Siddha)or B.I.M (Siddha) or L.I.M (Siddha) or a degree in B.S.M.S. are eligible to apply for the Assistant Medical Officer (Siddha).
Candidates applying for Assistant Medical Officer post have to ensure that their upper age limit does not exceed that of 35 years as on July 01, 2020. The maximum age limit for the reserved category is relaxable as per the Government rules. For ex-servicemen candidates, the upper age limit is 48 years and for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC and DNCs, BCs, BCMs is 58 years.
Applications are invited only via TN MRB website, mrb.tn.gov.in. Candidates can register themselves by clicking on the online registration button present on the home page of the website. Hereafter, they have to select the name of the post they are applying for, upload the images, submit an application for by furnishing details such as the community certificate number, medical council registration, and other details. While submitting the form, candidates also have to pay the application fee of Rs. 1000/-. Those who belong to SC/SCA/ST/DAP(PH) only have to pay Rs. 500/-. The fee can be paid online.
